Hoover F7412900 MaxExtract Review

Cleaning Carpeted Stairs With Hoover MaxExtractThe MaxExtract Dual V Carpet Cleaner from Hoover is a powerful vacuum that is designed to deep-clean carpets and upholstery. It achieves this using Dual-V technology, creating equal vacuum power on the entire cleaning surface, while SpinScrub brushes groom the carpet and pull out debris.

In addition, the Automatic Mixing system combines water and detergent inside the machine to the correct ratios, while Auto Rinse ensures your carpet fibers are free of residual cleaning product after its done breaking down deeply embedded dirt.

Not just for carpets, the upholstery tool, SpinScrub hand device, and 8 foot hose imbue with you cleaning versatility, clean carpeted stairs, and furniture with as much effectiveness as the main unit. The buttons for these are intuitively placed on the devices, placing control entirely in your hands. A tool caddy makes them accessible when you need them.

Only use enough power for the task; spill pick up mode, gentle scrub and power scrub will allow you to use the device as you need it.

    Overview

Hoover MaxExtract F7412900It’s always nice to think it won’t happen to you, that your carpet will never need the attention of a deep clean.

Sure, hiring third party to clean your carpet with one of the big machines is an option, but it can be costly, and those big machines they use are obnoxiously loud.

Enter the MaxExtract Dual V Carpet Cleaner. Hoover’s home carpet cleaning solution.

I bought this thing on a whim after realizing two children and a puppy don’t mesh well for a carpets life. Nursing a big spill to ensure it dries was a massive chore too.

The MaxExtract is a fairly large unit, and looks like a really advanced vertical vacuum. Unboxing is a pretty basic affair, and setting the machine up to clean is pretty easy too.

Water and solution is mixed inside the machine and applied appropriately, which is pretty great. You know what else is great? The actual cleaning process. This vacuum revealed that the natural color of the carpet was in fact many shades brighter than it had been. Additionally, it extracted enough water so that the carpet was dry and plush in about an hour.

After each clean the water in the tank is going to be gross and dirty. For all that is holy, please clean your unit after each use and empty the water out. This machine will work like it did on day one each time you need it, but you have to put the work in to ensure that it does.

The added bonus of this product is that I got it for the carpet and with the additional hand tools, I ended up using it all over the place. My dog is a bit car-sick and decided to let us know about this by ejecting chunks all over the backseats of the car. That’s a high-risk issue, because if it’s not handled well, that smell is going to sit in the upholstery for a long time. No one likes a car that smells of puppy puke.

Thankfully, the MaxExtract was there to save the day. The tools cleans excellently, and have handy controls at your finger tip. It wasn’t long before my car was smelling fresh again.

    Pros

    • Powerful carpet cleaner.
    • Handtools as powerful as the main tool.
    • Easy to operate.

    Cons

    • Requires constant maintenance and cleaning.
    • Individual parts prone to failure in long-term.

    Verdict

Hoover’s MaxExtract is a brilliant tool and well worth the price. Sure the needy maintenance may feel like you’re replacing one job with another, but hey, at least you’ll never have to worry about your carpets again.
