Pros and Cons of Professional Floor Cleaning Services

    Professionally Cleaned Floors

Caring for your floors is a process that takes time, and requires consistent financial investments on specific utensils and products that can get the job done for each type of floor in your home.

I find it extremely difficult to segment my time in order to accomplish all of my duties, except for going to work 8 hours a day, and prepping breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Also, if you have to take the kids from school, your daily schedule becomes completely busy, with no time to spend on cleaning your floors properly.

Though hiring a professional floor cleaning service might seem a convenient alternative, there are many factors pertinent to the decision-making process you should be taking into account. Let’s take a look at some of the pros and cons of hiring a professional.

    Pros:

Hiring Experts Can Save You Time

If there is anything I learned after having personally hired a floor cleaning service, is how much time you can save when others do the job for you. Depending on how large your floors are, they might require as little as ten minutes, or as long as one hour to be properly cleaned. And if you aim to keep them shiny and good-looking, you might need to double that time.

Once you hire a professional cleaning service, you can be sure that your floors will be clean in a timely fashion. Whether you are at work completing your daily tasks, or at home taking a nap after a long, hectic day at work, having to clean your floors is not going to be a problem anymore.

You will see that there is nothing better or more relaxing than having some time for yourself – and you will enjoy every minute.

They Have The Right Tools and Products

I remember the day when my husband installed the tile floor in our kitchen. I was so happy at the thought of finally changing the look and feel of the room, but little did I know that my floor care routine was going to change as well. As such, I found myself having to buy a brand new upright vacuum, and spend a whopping $2,000 on a steam cleaning machine.

The best part about hiring a professional floor cleaning company is that they will most definitely have the right tools and products to handle virtually any job, no matter how tough or time-extensive. They use only those cleaning products that work best on the specific types of floors you have in your home, and they know exactly what to do in case of a bad-smelling grout, or stained hardwood.

    Cons:

    Working With Professionals is Expensive

I sometimes wonder myself why I don’t just clean the floors myself since it is a lot cheaper. Though I might be spending, let’s say, $100 for a professional cleaning agent, at least I will know that I can use it for a longer time, and I will not have to pay double, or triple that amount for a one-time job I can easily do myself.

As I mentioned above, working with professionals is not cheap, specifically if we talk about companies that have a good reputation, and many years of experience. You can expect to pay as little as $150 for stripping, waxing, sealing and buffing floors, or as much as $500+. However, the cost is oftentimes calculated depending on square footage, so the larger your floors are, the more you will have to pay.

They Might Use Different Cleaning Methods

There are countless cleaning products and agents out there, but how do you know that the company you hire will be using one that you like? There is a good chance that you might be allergic to some chemicals, which can trigger many unwanted health issues and further complications. After spending $200 or more on the service, adding a medical bill to the cost is not the brightest perspective, right?

Furthermore, many professionals might be using different materials or cleaning methods, except for the cleaning agents themselves. For example, they might prefer using bleach for tiled and grouted floors, while you always use a mixture of water and baking soda. There might be a slight difference in how your floors look, but a huge one in how they smell.

    Conclusion

Hiring a professional service for a one-time job can be convenient at times, and it should not be that expensive either as long as it does not happen too often.

Let’s face it: there are times when your schedule is simply too busy, and the rest of your duties are more important than sweeping or vacuuming. As such, a floor cleaning service might be handy – a bit expensive, that’s true, but you will at least get the job done in a professional manner that will save you time and effort.
